Honoring The Mamba & Disrupting Pain

I’m excited! I’m excited to not just share the new me that I’m connecting and becoming one with. I’m also excited to share parts of my journey that got me to this point, and how I’m working to sustain it. With everything that I have instore for this year, this is the foundation that everything will be rooted from. For the past few years, my books, multiple blog articles, and multiple podcast episodes have focused on my pain and negative things that I went and was going through. Going forward, everything will be different. I am no longer operating from this place. Is my life 100% better? Absolutely not! BUT!!! It’s better! I’m choosing to operate from a different mindset.

Everyone goes through pain and trauma. Some more than others. If you have not endured pain or trauma yet, unfortunately you will at least once before you die. This is not any idea that is backed by evidence or research. It’s more of an observed ideology of mine that is based off things I’ve seen in the bible, my own life, the life of others, books, news, etc. When I really started to have a better outlook on not just my life but life in general, was when my faith and my mindset became alliances. I know individuals that are not the most spiritual and may have different beliefs than me. When I say faith, I’m talking about faith in the sense of a verb, not a noun. I’m talking about faith, in regards to believing that things will get better and whatever I believe in will help me get there. That this darkness or pain I’m operating in, there is a door that I am going to find. That when I walk through that door, I will be moving on from anything negative that has power over me or that is restricting me.

One of my favorite people to ever exist is Kobe Bryant. One of my favorite things about him is his Mamba Mentality. From this great man’s own words: Mamba mentality means to be able to constantly try to be the best version of yourself. To focus on the process and trusting in the hard work when it matters the most. 2024 is special to me for multiple reasons. Internally, there will be a merger of the phoenix that lives inside of me and the Mamba Mentality. During Kobe’s NBA career, he wore numbers 8 and 24. In 2024, I will be releasing by 8th book. That book and everything I’m about this year, stems from the notion of “disrupting pain”.

Many of the spiritual principles internalized in me, principles of the Mamba Mentality, and just overall goals for my life are all aligned and fit together like the perfect puzzle pieces. My book, the return of my podcast, my blog, my foundation, and anything I do will exist from a place of disrupting my pain, helping others to disrupt theirs, having some fun along the way, not being held back/stopped from achieving any of our goals, and doing the work to be our best selves.

“Hard work outweighs talent. Mamba mentality is about doing more than the next guy and then trusting in the work you’ve put in when it’s time to perform. Without studying, preparation, and practice – you’re leaving the outcome to fate. I don’t do that!”

~Kobe Bryant
